How to write a good speech?

Public speaking is the most feared thing to the point where people would rather drown than stand up in front of an audience and give a speech. But those of you who are willing to face this fear, but have no idea how to do so, I will help with the process of writing a good speech.

There are 4 parts to writing a good speech:

  • Find a topic you are passionate about

  • Be knowledgeable about your topic

  • Talk about a maximum of 3 major points within your topic

  • Have ways to engage the audience

1. Find a topic you are passionate about

Everyone has their own interests which may differ from others. Just because everyone else prefers something else doesn’t prevent you from talking about what you love.

2. Be knowledgeable about your topic

You can’t talk effectively or expect your audience to listen to you if they think that you don’t know what you are talking about. In order to talk successfully, it requires you to know exactly what you are saying. Be the expert at what you are explaining.

3.Talk about a maximum of 3 major points within your topic

When talking about anything, your goal is to explain the most possible content in a way which the audience will remember. If you try to talk about more than three major points, your audience will not remember it all. But talking about minor points will not allow you to talk about the most information.

4. Have ways to engage the audience

There is no point in explaining something to an audience who doesn’t listen. In order to get them to listen you have to engage them through questions or other means which you decide are effective. Remember to give your audience a take-away at the end of your speech to fully optimize your speech quality and possibly get them to do something.

I hope this will help you in writing your next speech to be at its best quality.
